天使Angelaは自ら使命であるHellspawn狩りを行うために中世の時代に訪れていた。Angelaは人間の女性に変化して、この時代に転生していたMedieval Spawnを油断させ、次元ランスで止めを刺した。 そして現代へ。 Hellspawnの狩猟許可証を手にして現代の世界に舞い降りたAngelaは裏路地に住まうAl Simmons:Spawnの元へ向かう。 その後に繋がる大事なシーンが２つある。  まずはAngelaが地球担当ディレクターであるGabrielleの元に訪ねるシーン。AngelaはHellspawnの狩猟許可証をGabrielleに見せて許可を得ていることを伝える。Gabrielleは続編となるMini-series「ANGELA」において重要な役回りを演じる。 もう一つはAl:Spawnとの対決のシーン。Al:Spawnの攻撃に不意を突かれたAngelaはその場を逃げ去る際に、天界の槍次元ランスを落としてしまう。これも今後の展開に関わってくる。 Angela first appearance Summary: In the Dark Ages, Angela disguises herself as a damsel in distress to lure a Spawn into a cave. Al:Spawnは頭上から現れた虹色の煙に包まれ、次元の泡の中へ飛ばされてしまう。 そこに待っていたの天界の地球担当ディレクターGabrielleだった。彼女はAngelaの写真を見せて手に持っている次元ランスのことを尋ねてきた。「Al:SPAWNが次元ランスを持っていないこと」、「今はどこにあるか知らないこと」を確認したGabrielleはAl:Spawnを裏路地へと送り返す。 「次元ランス」がAngelaの手元にないことを確認したGabrielleはAngela破滅を企む。 その後の展開はMini-Series 「ANGELA」に続いていく。 地球担当ディレクターとして登場したGabrielleはAngelaが総務次官だった時に派手に喧嘩をした相手であり、予てからAngelaに対して私怨を抱いていた。 Summary: Deep in Hell, Malebolgia gleefully details how Al is being groomed to lead Hell's armies. Angelaは凍てつく惑星サンダルフォン５で、自分の10万回目の誕生日を祝うためにサンダルフォン・ドラゴンの狩りを楽しんでいた。だが、そこへ駆けつけた天使スリエル率いる天使軍団に取り囲まれて逮捕されてしまう。Angelaの親友であるクァン・インとアナイータは地球担当のGabrielleが私怨を晴らすために虚偽の報告をしていることを知る。クァン･インとアナイータは真実を知るために、全ての元凶であるAl:Spawnの元へと向かった。 Summary: Our story begins on the frozen wastes of Sandalphon 5, where Angela is celebrating her 100,000 birthday (does she use earth years? Why?) by hunting a Sandalphon dragon. The ludicrously dressed angel stabs the dragon in the eye, and then after a few moments, the dragon falls on her. No sooner has Angela cut off the monster's head and prepared it to be sent out to the taxidermist, then a host of angels show up and declare Angela under arrest. After considering a fight with 300,000 angels, Angela decides to surrender quietly to Surielle, the obviously evil rival angel who is arresting her.Back on earth, Spawn mopes around, feeling bad about Wanda (WANDA!), and how she married his best friend. Elsewhere on earth (I think), Angela's friends Anahita and Kuan Yin stop preparing for Angela's party as they've heard of Angela's arrest. Anahita immediately suspects foul play and the duo travel to an MC Escher type file area, where they pressure reluctant angel Saranyu into showing them the evidence collected against Angela. Apparently some earth-middle management angel is mad at Angela for losing to Spawn, and says she was on earth without permission or orders. The angelic duo respond by tracking Spawn on earth, sucker-punching him while invisible. They appear in front of Spawn and tell him he's going to heaven. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

アナイータとクァン･インは地球に出向き、Al:Spawnを天界の都エリシウムへと連れて行った。

魔界の地で目覚めたAngelaとAl:Spawnの元に魔界の使い魔スマットが現れる。スマットから魔界を脱出する方法を聞いた二人は、その天界への階段を目指す。魔界の手の者を退治しながら進む二人は互いに話し合わず、スマットを介して会話をする。やっとの思いで天界の扉に達したAl:Spawnは何故か地球のどこかの町へと到着する。 一方、Angelaは彼女のことを心配しているアナイータとクァン･インの元に無事な姿を見せた。 程無くしてAngelaは地球に向かい、大使館のGabrielleの元を訪ねた。Angelaの脅しに屈するようなGabrielleではなかったが、彼女の証言が偽証であったことを彼女自身が認めるテープがドミニオンに届いており、調べてみるとGabrielleの報告に偽造があったことが分かったと、上司であるラファエルから告げられる。 天界での政治的闘争に嫌気が差したAngelaは天使の地位を捨ててフリーランスのハンターとして生きる道を見出し、アナイータとクァン･インとともに宇宙へと旅立つ。 Story: Spawn and Angela escape the area of Hell they have found htemselves in and go their seperate ways. Spawn appears back on Earth (but not anywhere that is familiar to him) while Angela returns to Elysium in order to clear her name. 「なぁ、ブーツィ 諦めろ。アルが姿を消してから３週間になる。」 ボビーはそう言ってブーツィを慰めた。だがそこにようやく帰り着いたAl:Spawnが姿を現した。二人はAl:Spawnが姿を現したことに喜びが隠せなかった。
その頃、天界のラファエルはヘル・スポーンの痕跡が3つに分裂しており、そのうち２つはニューヨークのバワリー地区で活発に動いているとの報告を得ていた。
「奴らのパワーは転移が可能と聞いていたが、自分のパワーを他人に分け与えなんて聞いたことないね。」 ラファエルは聖なる兵士の準備が整っていることも聞き、ミッションを進めるように指示した。
その頃、テリー・フィッツジェラルドはジェイソン・ウィンの情報が思うように集められず苦慮していた。「いっそ奴の部下になって権限を得れば・・・」そんなことを考えていた。
天界の聖なる兵士の器は準備が整っていた。あとは中身を入れるだけだった。その対象に一人の青年が選ばれる。刑務所を出たり入ったりしていた青年だが、今回、刑務所を出てから改心をした。フィル・ティンバー 彼の母はその改心を奇跡といった。その彼は聖なる光に包まれると分解されて聖なる兵士へと変貌する。アルが戻ってきたことによって路地裏は束の間の平穏が支配していた。思えば、謎の天使Angelaとの出会いから始まった出来事だった。不幸な少年とも出会った。だが、Al:Spawnはまた裏路地へと戻ってこられたのだ。 だが、その平穏を打ち破るように聖なる兵士が登場した。なんと目標はボビーだった。彼がAl:Spawnによって死から 蘇った際のサイコブラズムが反応したのだ。すぐにAl:Spawnは救出に向かうが、聖なる兵士 RedeemerはAl:Spawnを殴り倒すと、ボビーを連れ去ってしまった。 Al:Spawnは倒れ、コスチュームも死んだように動かなかった。しかし数時間後、コスチュームはゆっくり動きだすと、新たな姿へと生まれ変わったのだった。 Summary: Spawn returns to New York and reclaims his throne. Meanwhile, Heaven has selected another Redeemer. This one is pure of heart, and therefore more powerful. Spawn is easily defeated, and his ravaged armor momentarily shuts down.  Maximageは自分の師であるThe Ancientから受けた情報を伝えに、"Youngblood"のThe Away Teamの元に現れ、彼らを魔法の力でANGEL STASIONへと連れて行った。一方、AngelaとGloryは中東の砂漠でCelestine率いる軍勢との戦いに手間取っていた。 また、既にANGEL STATIONに到着していたThe Home TeamはCelestineの兵士たちを相手に苦戦を強いられていた。またThe Away Teamのメンバーも戦線に加わるが、 MaximageはSTATIONと地上との間でThe Elemental Fireの力がリンクしていることに気づく。 Maximageの祈りにも似た魔法の力によってそのリンクは途切れ、ANGEL STATIONを奪還することに成功した。 「Awesome---I made it!」 勝利を喜ぶMaximageだったが、急に何かに引きずられるかのように地上へと落ちていった。 Story so far When government Support for Youngblood evaporated following the death of the program's founder and Director, Alexander Greves, the team's main off-shoot operation, Team Youngblood, was closed down. Team Youngblood's members were placed on reserve status and moved to the sidelines as the main team was trimmed down to lwaner six member squad. When Youngblood Secretary Alan Keever learned of the reappearance of a NASA space station long missing from orbit and dispatched Youngblood to investigate, Graves' replacement, the engimatic Dredd, petitioned the government to reactivate Team Youngblood. The okay was tentatively given, but scarcely did anyone know exactly how great a necessity a second Youngblood team would soon became...

Gloryの本名は"Gloriana Demeter"。 AmazonianであるLady Demeterを母に、魔族のLord Silverfallを父に持つハーフであり、Amazonianの王女である。その美貌から雑誌のモデルなども務めることもあり、New Yorkにいることが多い。Amazonianの戦士として育てられてきた彼女だが、自身が持つ魔族の血をコントロールし切れない一面を持つ。 Story so far Gloriana Demeter is an immortal from a broken home. Daughter of a machiavellian demon lord and a warrior queen, she combines the beauty and ferocity of both her parents and has for decades lived in the world of men as a champion of justice. Celestineが甦らせた死者たちは砂の中へと姿を消していく。兵を失ったCelestineと対峙するAngelaとGlory。
その目の前に空から一人の女性が落ちてきた。その女性が「あなた達は誰？」と声をかけると、その隙にCelestineは砂の中へと姿を消した。 残されたAngela達にその女性は「私はLori。ついさっきまで、Maximageだったの・・・」と告げる。 Loriの説明ではCelestine達が占拠したANGEL STATIONからここへThe Elemental fireの力が送られていて、死者を甦らせていた。しかしANGEL STATIONが解放され、The Elemental fireの力が途絶えたため、死者は砂の中へ溶けていったとのことだった。 Loriが現れてすぐにCelestineが姿を消したこともあり、Loriの言葉はAngelaとGloryには俄かに信じられなかった。 オアシスの泉を通じてイタリアに移動した彼女たちの前に第八魔界の王であるMalebolgiaが現れ、Celestineの反乱の裏には魔王の謀略があったことを知る。そこへCelestineが再び姿を現しGloryの喉元に手をかけた。救いたいという気持ちが通じたのか、魔法の力が戻りMaximageへと変身したLori"の攻撃にCelestineは再び、姿を消した。  地球の守護する者として何世紀も亘り「魔法の力」は次の候補者へと
受け継がれていた。その守護者たちはMaximageと呼ばれている。そして現在、その力を受け継いでいるのは"Lori Saunders"である。 「MAXIMAGE」は全７巻のコミックス。ストリート・チルドレンで悪ガキのLoriが地球の守護者であるMaximageに選ばれるのは3巻:A Plague of Hatredsにて。面白い設定だったが、コミックスとしては短命に終わった。 Our story so far There has always been a Mavimage. AngelaとGloryはCelestineの魂を救うために魔界へと向かった。魔界の者たちの攻撃に合いながらも第八魔界の王Malebolgiaの元へ辿り着く。戦いを挑むAngelaとGloryだったが、
AngelaがMalebolgiaの手中に落ちる。Angelaを今にも飲み込まんとするMalebolgiaの前に一人の紳士が現れる。「Boss,I wasn't・・・」 言葉を詰まらせるMalebolgiaの前に現れたのは堕天使Luciferだった。一度は怯んだMalebolgiaだったが、"Lucifer"の言葉には従わなかった。だが、Luciferの力の前ではMalebolgiaですら敵ではなかった。 Malebolgiaを退けたLuciferはAngelaとGloryに部下の非礼を謝るとともに、彼女たちの願いを聞き入れてCelestineを甦らせた。 彼女達３人はLuciferの部屋へ招待される。徐に一つの扉を開くと、そこには天界の都"エリシウム(ELYSIUM)"が広がっていたCelestineは復活した身体に魂を戻すため、天使達によって運ばれていった。残ったAngelaとGloryの前に天界の女神メタトロン(METATRON)が現れる。二人を労うメタトロンはGloryに「エリシウムに来て天使にならないか? あなたなら素晴らしい天使になれる」と言った。 だがGloryは「地球に残ります」と返事をする。 すると二人はいつの間にか地球に戻っていたGloryとの友情を誓いながらAngelaはgloryの元から旅立っていった。 Story so far For one hundred thousand years the angel Angela server heaven as a fearless hunter and messenger. She has since wandered the universe as an "ex-angel for hire" Born long ago on the Isle of Paradise,Amazonia Glory Demeter is the her to the throne of that mystic land and princess of the Amazonis\a people. The product of a mating between the demonic Lord Silverfall and Beautiful lady Demeter, Glory's hybrid nature has made her both a skilled and Ferocious warrior. At home in neither of her parents'dimensions, Glory fled the world of man and has since become one of esrth's greatest heroines. Terry learns that he will die in two months from a malignant brain tumor. Spawn is torn apart by the belief that Terry's a traitor, but he uses all his power to heal him. This sends Spawn hurtling to Hell's second level, where he is immediately attacked by creatures trying to drain his life-sustaining necroplasm. Then suddenly, memories of past injustices provoke Al into a rage and he rises to fight again. Part 1 ワンダは知らせを聞いた途端に病院へと直行していた。テリーが起こした交通事故が彼の生死に係わるものであることを直感したのだ。病院に到着したワンダはテリーの病室へと向かった。するとそこには首にギブスをはめられているテリーの姿があった。あれほどの事故なのに足首の捻挫と首のムチ打ち程度の負傷で済んだ。それよりも医者は、これで２回目となる失神のほうを心配していた。 ワンダに失神のことを話していなかったテリーは素直に詫びを入れた。何はともあれ、この程度で済んだのは不幸中の幸いと言える。ワンダはテリーのベットの傍らで安堵した。 その頃、Al:Spawnはカリオストロ卿から自身の状態について告げられていた。カースがAl:Spawnから寄生コスチュームを無理やり剥ぎ取ったことで、宿り主との絆が切れたのだという。しかも寄生コスチュームは宿り主から剥ぎ取られた状態で変態を遂げていた。今や寄生コスチュームは宿り主の意志に反して魔界へと戻りたがっているのだ。「今は刺激を与えるべきではない。パワーを使うことは禁物じゃ。」 寄生コスチュームがまだAl:Spawnの元を離れないのは宿り主が怒りや悪意といった餌を撒き散らしているからだ。「アル、怒りを捨てろ！」 Al:Spawnはこんな状態になっても彼のことを気遣うカリオストロ卿が不思議でならなかった。Al:Spawnの問いに伯爵は答えた。「わしもスポーンなのだ」と。 大した怪我もしていないテリーは早く我が家に帰りたかった。だが、医者から告げられたのは死の宣告だった。テリーの脳のなかに悪性の腫瘍があるとのことだった。元々テリーの脳のなかには腫瘍があったが、風邪のウィルスのせいで変異したのだという。しかも場所が悪く、切除は難しい。処置をしても２か月ほどの余命だと。 数日後、Al:Spawnは再びワンダの母であるブレイクを訪ねていた。今は心の平穏を望むAl:Spawnにとってブレイクは拠り所だったのだ。だが、そこで親友の不幸を知る。「テリーが死ぬ？」 俄かに信じられなかった。 テリーの様態は一気に深刻なものへと変わっていった。医者によると再び意識を失った際に脳への損傷があり、自力では呼吸できない状態であった。ワンダは生命維持の装置に繋がれたテリーの横で見守るしかなかった。 Al:Spawnはそんな友人のベッドの隣に佇んでいた。ワンダも仮眠をとっている状態だった。そこで彼はもう一度ワンダへの愛を再認識する。そう、これはワンダのためなのだ。Al:Spawnにとって今や愛が枷となっていた。だが、これはかつて妻と交わした約束なのだ。彼女を幸せにすると。 アル・シモンズは自分の身を案ずることなく魔力を使い始めた。テリーは苦痛から手を宙に伸ばし、人差し指がアル・シモンズの顔を縫っている靴紐にかかる。それを剥ぎ取った時、テリーはアル・シモンズの存在に気が付いた。緑の光が病室を覆った。ナースステーションでは患者の鼓動がフラットになったことを示すアラームが鳴り、ナースたちは病室へと向かった。そこには意識不明であったはずのテリーが気絶した妻を案ずる姿があった。 Part2 アル・シモンズは既に形を成しておらず、プラズマの塊となって闇を疾走していた。人間の魂は天界と魔界へと振り分けられる。その基準は善悪ではなく、やがて強き者へと変貌を遂げるであろうという期待値であった。そして魔界にとっては復讐と愛が入り混じったアル・シモンズが恰好の標的となった。  一方、マンハッタンの下水道に住まうクラウンは憎っくきHellspawnが自ら死を選んだことを知る。有頂天になるクラウンだが、悪事は止まらない。またどうせ数世紀後に人間がHellspawnとなり、ボスから召使いを言い渡されるのだ。そう考えたクラウンはアル・シモンズの死を決定的なものとする悪だくみを思いつく。そう、サイアンだ。 その頃、テリーは友人たちから病気が完治したことで祝福をされていた。医者たちは何故、彼が治ったのかが判らなかった。だが、テリーにとってはそんなことはどうでもよかった。また幸せな生活が送れるのだ。だが、夜になると夢を見て、アル・シモンズの存在を感じ取る。彼は既に死んだはずだ。不思議に思い、ブレイクの元を訪ねたテリーは不思議な話を聞かされる。ブレイクの元にアル・シモンズが訪れ、その際にテリーの様態を告げたのだという。 やがてアル・シモンズの魂はAl:Spawnの姿へと変貌を遂げていた。ここはどこだ。見覚えがある景色に、魔界の第２階層であることに気づく。だが、第２階層の住人たちはAl:Spawnを侵入者として捉えた。まずは小さなブヨだった。やがて集まるものは姿を大きくしていき、魔物が現れる。魔物の爪がAl:Spawnの顔に掛かり、皮を剥ぎ取った。だが、Al:Spawnは遂に反撃に出る。魔物を串刺しにしたAl:Spawnはその亡骸の上に立ち、言葉とは言えぬ叫び声を上げた。 それと同時にAl:Spawnはいきなり蒸発した。魔界の奥地では魔王であるマレボルギアの高笑いが響いていた。そう、事は彼の思惑の通りに進んでいるのだ。 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

惑星ペンタガス=フレイザーは魔族の集合体であるアーガスによって荒廃していた。Angelaはフリーランスの仕事としてアーガスとの戦いの真っ最中であった。しかし彼女の意識は一瞬、ある存在へと惹きつけられた。
 それは正に「恐怖」という感情だった。DEURGES その存在はAngela誕生の影に潜む死の存在だった。１０万年前の地球で野獣から我が子を救うべく自分の身を投じる母親。古代エジプトで奴隷として働く息子の死を見届けることとなった母親。合衆国南部で奴隷の身から逃亡を図り死を迎える少女。ユダヤ収容所で我が子たちの死に直面し自分も死のシャワー室へと向かう母親。近未来のロンドンで末期の病状の中、死を迎えることとなった老婆。それら5人の死の前に現れたのがDEURGESだった。そしてその5人の魂が「神の鼓動が放つ聖なる光」を受けてAngelaとなった。 そして今、ここにアーガスに囚われ死を迎えようとするAngelaの前にDEURGESが現れた。 エリシウムに誕生したAngelaは教官のキャサリンから天界を紹介される。そして一人の老婦人と出会う。老婦人から第八魔界の魔王Malebolgiaを教えられる。MalebolgiaこそがAngelaが感じている苦痛の主なのだ。 Summary Angela is on a crystalline planet called Pentagas-Fraser that is being ravaged by something called the Argus.  Summary A shaken Jason Wynn tells his security forces about a “terrorist threat” on his life and they reinforce the area. Meanwhile, Spawn’s face has healed itself. Although startled and confused by this new turn of events, Al forms plans to further intimidate Wynn to ensure Wanda’s safety and to win her back. カリオストロ卿はサムとトゥイッチにAl:Spawnのことを話す。あやつは心が休まることはない。今のあやつには生と死のやりとりにしか実感を持てないのじゃ。まさに魔王の思うつぼ。これまでのスポーンも皆、同じだった。そろそろよかろう。今度来る時にはあやつの客人として出会ってほしいものじゃ。 最後の質問としてサムがカリオストロ卿に問う。何故、奴はキンケイドを自分達の事務所に吊るしたのか。本当に知りたいかと問いながらカリオストロ卿は答える。忠実な騎士の助けがなければ、王は何も出来ぬ。あやつは二人をその役目に選んだのじゃ。あやつ自身もまだその事には気づいていないが、この契りは死ぬまで消えない。頼む、あやつを正義へ導いてくれ。  Summary When Cog promises to answer Sam and Twitch's questions, they follow him into the deepest parts of Rat City. Twitch takes notes as Cog tells the tale of Spawn's confused existence as it relates to them. They view Spawn's throne and hear of his life as it was on earth before he returned as a Hellspawn. ここはどこだ。自然に包まれた場所へAl:Spawnは到着する。異変は他にもある。マレボルギアへの忠誠の印、地獄への絆である紋章が消えて無くなっている。よくわからん。天国なのか？だが、突然に蔦がAl:Spawnの身体へと纏わりつく。ここは天国ではない。楽園だ。
その頃、地上では雷雨に包まれていた。「最終戦争の始まりか。」ブーツィはヘルスポーンの紋章へと意識を集中するが、Al:Spawnの存在を感じられない。そしてテリーの家ではサイアンが突然、発作を起こしていた。「かえってきて・・・」サイアンは力なく呟く。 一方、Al:Spawnの元に一人の人物が現れ、彼に試練を与えようとしていた。Al:Spawnは初めて自分の存在に気がつく。自分は清らかな水面に投じられた毒の石のようなものだ。自分の存在自体が世界を汚し、多くの命を奪う。そして最終戦争へと想いが繋がる。 そこで天界と魔界との戦いが始まってしまえば、地球にどんな影響が出るか判らない。Al:Spawnは天界と魔界の争いを終わらせる存在なのだ。第三の勢力"The Green world"の伝え手'The Keeper'はAl:Spawnに告げた。お前がその運命を受け入れないと言うのなら、元凶である人間を消し去ろう。 
やがてAl:Spawnは路地裏へと帰還する。出迎えたブーツィだったが、彼の元には天界の使者が訪れていた。ブーツィことBelazikkalは、既に死すべき運命であったボビーの魂へ干渉した罪で地球から天界へと連れ戻されそうになっていた。ブーツィはAl:Spawnへと訴えた。「お前がマレボルギアと契約したのは確かか？」そしてブーツィはAl:Spawnに最期の望みを伝えた。「御子が来る。お前が御子を守るんだ！」
Summary Spawn has been thrown into the realm of Greenworld, a third power beyond Heaven and Hell. 裁判官 Masonには常に仕事の重責がつきまとっていた。そんな彼を支えていたのは秘密の趣味であった。秘密の書庫から取り出したビデオテープをデッキに入れる。そして画面に映し出されたのは11歳にも満たない幼女の姿だった。 その時! 彼の背後Al:Spawnが現れる。「It is time for you to be judged!」 Al:Spawnに問い詰められたMason。やがてMasonは銃を手にし、それを右のこめかみに当てる。Masonの屋敷に乾いた銃声が鳴り響いた。 Al:Spawnが向かったのはNew Yorkの片隅にあるカリオストロ卿の書庫館だった。そこに見知らぬ男が座っていた。男はAl:Spawnを問い詰め、やがて魔界の姿を現した。魔物を壁に打ち付けAl:Spawn。そしてその手には床に落ちていた天界の槍「次元ランス」が握られていた。悲鳴を上げる魔物。Al:Spawnは「次元ランス」を手放し、指先に魔力を集め、魔物の左目を潰す。それはAl:Spawnに屈したことを意味する刻印でもあった。 
その後、ミッドタウンからタクシーに乗ってきた女性が書庫館に辿り着いた。床に転がる「次元ランス」を前に不敵にほほ笑む女性はAngelaが変身した姿だった。
Summary Spawn metes out justice to a highly respected pillar of the community who secretly enjoys child pornography. 時は19世紀の終わり頃。モルガン婦人の真夏の大舞踏会。それはロンドン社交期において最も有名で、誰もが知っている秘密。 多くの紳士・淑女が集うなか、Kildareも舞踏会に訪れていた。 その頃、町ではピーター・トラム博士の見世物小屋が開演していた。奇人を紹介するその見世物で、鎖に繋がれた女性が登場する。 「彼女の本当の名前は発音しがたく、私は彼女のことを簡単にAngelaと呼んでいる。」 ピーター博士はそう、紹介した。 公演が終了すると彼女は牢屋へと連れていかれた。暗い牢屋に閉じ込められた彼女が何を感じていたか想像だにしない。かつて誇り高き天界の戦士であった。暗闇のなか、怒りが沸き上がり、ここからの脱獄を思い浮かべる。彼女達天界の戦士の誇りは我々の想像を超えていた。 人狼であるZephon伯爵はオオカミの姿で狩りを楽しんでいた。そして彼が屋敷に戻った時、Kildareが訪れた。 Kildareは天使についての情報を聞きにZephon伯爵を訪ねたのだった。 情報を得たKildareは見世物小屋を訪れ、魔法で店員たちを眠らせた。そしてAngelaがいる牢屋の鍵を開ける。だがそこでピーター博士に見つかってしまう。 
Lady Kildareは妖精界の王女である。The Pugなどの妖精界の仲間と一緒に人間界に住んでいる。「ARIA」はJay Anacletoの画風が印象的なコミックス。1999～2003年にかけて本作を入れて５作品が製作された。 Angelaの設定は「SPAWN」と同じく天界の戦士。遠い惑星でドラゴン狩りをしている際に戦いをしくじり、地球に飛ばされてしまう。そして意識を失っている時にペテン師(原文:some wandering charlatan)に見つかってしまったという設定になっている。 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

In the ensuing battle, Spawn is badly beaten by the powerful Urizen and left impaled upon a pole where he is soon reclaimed by the Earth. Meanwhile, Wanda awakens from a nightmare about her baby to find Terry missing from their bed. Later, as the demons hasten to engage in some earthly sins before they are returned, Angela catches them and asks for an explanation of their mission. 串刺しになっていたAl:Spawnを救ったのはAngelaだった。そして「あんたに伝わっている話は全て嘘だ。」と伝える。Al:Spawnは「遊んでいる暇はない。去れ! 俺はお前のことを信じてはいない」と答えるが、Angelaは「頼むよ。あんたに止めを刺したかったら、いくらでもやる機会はあったはず。しかめっ面をして佇んでるだけなら、一緒に世界を救わない?」と説得する 地球の異変は他の天使達にも伝わっており、指令を受け取ってはいたが、行動に移すのに躊躇していた。 Al:SpawnとAngelaは隠匿生活を送っているカリオストロ卿の元に訪れ、古代の闇神Urizenのことを聞くが、カリオストロ卿の話は漠然として真相が掴めなかった。 
二人はカリオストロ卿の元を去るが、何もつかめないままUrizenに立ち向かおうとするAl:SpawnのことをAngelaが制して争いとなる。そしてAngelaは突然Al:Spawnにキスをする。「な、何を？」焦るAl:SpawnにAngelaは答える。 「予想外のことを認めないのはあんたの悪いところだよ。聞きな。あたしは全体のことを考えるし、もう少し事態を理解する必要があるよ。あんたは自分の身に起きていることに無頓着過ぎるんだ。」 その頃、Urizenは人々を自らの死へと導き寄せていた。 Summary Angela rescues Spawn from his impaled position and gives him the lowdown on their new mission even after she received orders on to act. Other angels debate the order, saying it is thier duty, their purpose to fight while others claim it is their job to follow orders. Spawn and Angela find Cog and try to pry ancient information out of him, but he is vague and uncooperative. Later, after Spawn and Angela leave Cog, they argue and even get into a bit of a tussle. Angela is surprised to learn that Spawn still hasn’t figured out his earthly role. Meanwhile, Urizen is leading people to their deaths like a monstrous Pied Piper. When they are unable to get information out of the demons, Spawn takes measures to temporarily contain Urizen while Angela halts an army of angels from going to war on Earth’s behalf. Meanwhile, Terry and Wanda reconcile when Wanda’s doctor tells her that the baby’s due date is much sooner than expected and therefore the conception was earlier than they thought. The Aetherにて Angelaは「地球から離れな！」と天使Domina率いる軍勢に告げるが、軍勢は止まることなく"Angela"と小競り合いを始めていた。 一方、Al:Spawnは古代神Urizenとの戦いを始めていた。 「この世界が俺に話しかけている。もはやお前など恐れるに足りぬ。」 その頃、Angelaたちの元に天界の使者が現れた。「Angelaは私たちが関与する者ではない。自分を導く光に沿って行動すればよい。」 そういってAngelaをAl:Spawnの元へと送り込んだ。 Al:SpawnとAngelaは古代神Urizenとの戦いを繰り広げていく。天界の軍勢や地獄の者たちがその様子を窺っている。地球の意志が鼓動し、力を集めていく。Water, Earth, Air and Fire 全ての力がUrizenへと向かう。 やがて地面が裂けて古代神を貪り食く。Urizenは遂に地球の冷たい石牢へと戻っていった。 「Spawn、大丈夫？ 遂にやったよ。あたしは実際、奴を封じ込めることができるとは思えなかったよ」 Angelaは語りかけた。 だがAl:Spawnは答えが欲しかった。そしてAbとZabを問い詰めた。「言うことを聞け！誰がお前たちを送り込んだんだ。」 Zabは呟いた。「MM..M..Malebolgia...」 Summary Angela halts an army of angels from going to war on Earth's behalf and then comes to the aid of Spawn in his battle against Urizen. Together, harnessing the elemental power of nature, they return Urizen to an Earth-bound prison. Meanwhile, Terry rushes Wanda to the hospital while Granny urges Cyan to protect the “sad man” by using her mind. After their victory against Urizen, Spawn and Angela question the Earthbound demons Ab and Zab and finaly learn that it was malebolgia who set Urizen upon the Earth. 見世物小屋の牢屋に囚われていたAngelaを救いに来たKildare。だがピーター博士に見つかってしまう。そこに巨大なオオカミ男が現れて二人を助ける。それはZephon伯爵だった。 「博士、天界の戦士を対する侮辱のつけは自分で払うようになるわ。」 Kildareはそう呟いた。 Zephon伯爵の隠れ家に着いたKildareはAngelaを休ませた。だがAngelaは氷のように冷たかった。 「私を神聖な場所に連れて行って」 Angelaとそう言った。 KildareたちはAngelaを教会へと連れていく。すると光がAngelaの身体を包み、天使の姿は取り戻した。 「彼はどこ！」 Angelaの心は自分の受けた屈辱への復讐に満ち溢れていた。 そこに高らかな笑い声とともにピーター博士が現れた。彼は魔界の力を手にしていた。 「地獄に堕ちな！」Angelaの力が博士に襲いかかるが、博士は魔力で応戦する。二人の戦いはエスカートしていく。 「博士はもう人間ではない。」Zephon伯爵の声が響く。「私は誰のものではない！」Angelaの怒りは頂点に達していた。 するとKildareは魔法を使い、二人を妖精界へと連れて行った。 Angelaはまだ博士に襲いかかろうとするが、Kildareが制した。 「ここは妖精界。博士、あなたは地上界では悪夢のような存在だったけど、ここではその力は使えないわ」 ピーター博士が力を失ったのを見届けたKildareはAngelaを連れてZephon伯爵の元へ戻ってきた。 「無礼で愚かな老博士は退治したわ。あなたは天使の姿が一番似合っているわ」 KildareはAngelaにそう声をかけた。 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

第八魔界では魔王Malebolgiaの高笑いが響いていた。だがそこに現れたMammonは魔王の敗北を感じ取る。 地上ではAl:SpawnがAbとZabを問い詰めていた。彼らの話では魔王Malebolgiaが天界と魔界のバランスを崩し、アルマゲドンの到来を導いていたとのことだった。 Al:SpawnとAngelaはカリオストロ卿と出会う。 「ここは始まりの地だ。儂はお前を助けようと話をしてきた。だがそれは自分が救われるために話してきたようだった。自分の呪いとともに何世紀もこの世界を歩いてきた。儂はお前とともに救われる道を見つけようとしていたんだと思う。儂はこのゲームのルールをお前に伝えてきたが、お前は我が道を進んでいた。遅かれ早かれ全ての男は父を乗り越えていくものだ。儂はかつてお前にこのエリアに隠れている天界の入口を見せたことがある。第八魔界への入り口も同様にある。それはここだ。お前が初めて地球上に現れたこの場所だ」 AngelaがAl:Spawnに問いかける。「あんたたちは二人とも正気の沙汰じゃないよ。わかってる？でもあんたは常に選択してきた。これがもしあんたの望むものなら・・・」 Al:SpawnはAngelaに「ここからは一人で行く。」と告げる。 Al:Spawnは第八魔界へと足を踏み入れた。魔物たちが息を潜めてAl:Spawnの姿を見つめている。 そして魔王Malebolgiaとの戦いが始まった。「これで終わりだ。もうお前のゲームの駒になることはない。」 Al:Spawnはそう叫ぶが、魔王Malebolgiaの絶対的な力の前にねじ伏せられていた。 「お前はこの儂が創ったものだ。お前に与えたものなど一瞬で奪い取ることができる。」 そこへAngelaが現れる。「魔界の王を倒すチャンスをあたしが見逃すとでも思ったのかい？」 「儂はMalebolgia。魔界の王だ」 魔王はそう叫ぶが、Angelaが振るう天界の槍ランスは魔王の身体を切り裂く。 そしてランスがMalebolgiaの喉元に突き刺さった。 「大丈夫かい、マイフレンド？」 Angela"がAl:Spawnに肩を貸す。 だが魔王"Malebolgia"は死んでいなかった。ランスを手にした魔王はAngelaの背後からその槍を突き立てた。 「奴らの嘘に耳を貸しちゃいけないよ。あんたは常に選択してきた。あたしは後悔などしていない・・・」 Angelaは最期にそう呟いた。Al:SpawnはAngelaが持っていた剣を抜いて、Malebolgiaの首を掻き切った。 姿を現したMammonは新しい王の誕生を称えた。魔王を倒すことは、新たにその玉座を得ることとなる。 だがAl:Spawnは自らの選択を選んだ。 Angelaの亡骸を抱えたAl:Spawnは天界の軍勢の前へと赴き、彼女を引き渡す。 天界の使者はAl:Spawnに天界へと迎え入れる用意があることを告げる。だがAl:Spawnはこの世界へと残ることを選択した。 The Night rings with distant sirens and muffled cries. Summary While Wanda lies close to death, Spawn returns to the eighth level of Hell for a final showdown with a weakened Malebolgia. At the height of the conflict, Angela arrives to join in the battle. After mortally wounding Malebolgia and thinking him dead, Spawn and Angela prepare to escape; however, with his last breath, Malebolgia extracts Angela's lance and impales her with it. In a rage, Spawn decapitates Malebolgia with Angela's sword. Carrying Angela's lifeless body, Spawn delivers her to a host of angels who offer him forgiveness and redemption. He refuses this angelic pardon, but the angel who offers it can yet do one favor for Spawn: She appears in Wanda' hospital room and breathes new life into Wanda. The Epilogue to issue 100 Spawn returns to the home of Granny Blake to bid her a final farewell. He explains to Granny his belief that Heaven and Hell are two sides of the same coin and defends his decision to choose neither. Granny, however, will have none of it and refuses to let Al disparage her faith.
